I agree with you Finkelstein.
I also find it utterly ignorant for the original poster to have likened abortion to the Holocasut. How inappropriate.

Well, I missed pages of this post. For me, as a born in JW, the question of if abortion was right or wrong started when I watched Cider House Rules years ago. Then, getting pregnant while on the pill and trying to leave an abusive mate, left me a lot of disquieting thoughts regarding how all abortiin could possibly be wRong in every situation. It simply made no sense. Add to that, my best friend (JW virgin) being gang raped a couple years ago, and the first thing I told her when she called me after the attack was how imperative it was for her to get a medical exam and Plan B ASAP. Combine all the US political focus on abortion and gays I during the election, I simply hadntomresearch the origins if each and apply LOGIC.
Pro-lifer's might have more of a case if they were at the forefront of setting up homes and legitimate programs for unplanned children. Even then, why are so many eager to have the US full of women having babies they DO NOT want?
my daughter and i decorated our first holiday tree over the weekend.
white with teal, blue and magenta.
it came out very pretty!
My daughter and I decorated our first holiday tree over the weekend. White with teal, blue and magenta. It came out very pretty! I have three holiday parties in the next week! While I have no interest in the religious aspect of the holiday, I'm excited to have more decorating and party options.
I must say, while there are SOME people who overdo things and the rationale behind wearing yourself out shopping and encouraging greed among children, is a definite concern; the VAST majority of people just want time with their families. I'm glad I woke up in the past year and can see the good in the season.
My daughter is studying Judaism so we also celebrated Hanukkah!
Feels so pleasurable to know I can throw a Winter Solisicte gathering for fun, too!
Hope everyone is enjoying the good aspects of the season!
i am just watching my neighbours across the road putting up christmas lights while their children run around bursting with excitement.
i am feeling all christmassy now.
can't wait for my daughter to come home from uni next weekend so we can go and buy a tree from the garden centre.
Pretty tree, Blondie! I never seem able to get photos to post on here. I'm sticking with practical gifts for my teen and a lot of volunteer time.
has anyone here left jehovah's witnesses to join the churuch of jesus christ of latter-day saints?
what was your motivation for doing so and how has it worked out?.
if you haven't joined the lds or considered it, as an ex-jw, what is your general view of the lds faith?.
No. Seriously, just act like you're buying a car and google the hell out of any religion. Positives and negatives. Then, make up your own mind. Once I learned TTATT end of last year, I googled other US relgions I'm familiar with and it was easy to see how they were nonsense.

I watched it and felt Audra McDonald out sang Carrie Underwood. Still quite a gutsy thing to do live for all involved and I did enjoy it. Personally, I think a show targeted at families on a school night should definitely have started earlier. My teen was too tired to stay up for the whole thing.
ok i know some of you are going to mock me but i don't give a shit and you'd better get dafaq outta this thread if you don't beleive in this stuff.. .

My daughter and I decorated our first tree today. She started studying Judaism (Jewish boyfriend) and once she knew we were done with JW said she wanted to celebrate Hanukkah. We did and it was nice. I have zero interest in the relgious aspect of Xmas, think it's a shame when people overdo the commercializaction of it, yet for the first time, see how for the majority of people the holidays are more about time with their family.
We did a white tree with aqua and magenta trimmings. It came out quite pretty.
